SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY / SUSTAINABILITY

At Ali Murtaza, we believe that we must behave ethically and with sensitivity toward social, cultural, economic and environmental issues. We give great importance to social responsibility and sustainability in our manufacturing process. We are also actively involved in charitable causes and continue our contributions to organizations like AGHA KHAN UNIVERITY in Karachi and GENERAL HOSPITAL in Lahore.

INITIATIVES IN SEWING: We are continuously working on finding ways to reduce our energy consumption. We have installed needle point LED lights on each sewing machine in our production lines. This has helped in reducing our electricity consumption for lighting on production floors by nearly twenty five percent. We are also looking into more sustainable energy resources such as Solar energy.

INITIATIVES IN LAUNDRY: In our laundry we have invested in machines that reduce water and chemical consumption such as GFK Lasers and BIG water extractors. We are also operating EIM (Environmental Impact Measuring) software by Jeanologia. With the help of this software we are able to calculate the environmental impact score of each wash process in the laundry. With this information we can find ways to reduce the impact by reducing water and chemical consumption.

ETP: Our effluent treatment plant has a capacity to treat 124 cubic meters per hour of water per day. We are not only meeting the NEQs standards defined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Pakistan but exceeding them.
